Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-04-05
1. Service Provider
The free instance of Reborn Apps at reapps.eu is operated by Fundacja Reborn (Reborn Foundation), a Polish non-profit organization registered in the National Court Register (KRS: 0000708416), with its registered seat at ul. Lwowska 35/5, 33-300 Nowy Sącz, Poland. NIP: PL7343554397. Contact: [email protected]
2. Nature of the Service
Reborn Apps are open-source productivity tools (task management, notes) with end-to-end encryption. The applications work in an offline-first model — your data is stored locally on your device and synchronized with the server in the background. The service is provided AS-IS, free of charge, with no guaranteed uptime or SLA.
3. Account Requirements
- You must be at least 16 years old to use the service (in accordance with GDPR Art. 8 and Polish law).
- Registration requires only a username and password. No email or phone number is needed.
- After enabling two-factor authentication (2FA), we recommend generating one-time recovery codes in the application's security settings. They allow you to log in if you lose access to your authenticator app.
- Losing your password is irreversible — in Zero Knowledge architecture, there is no way to reset your password or recover your data. Recovery codes do not replace your password.
4. End-to-End Encryption and Data Responsibility
All user data is encrypted on your device before being transmitted to our servers. We do not have access to your encryption keys or unencrypted data. This means:
- We cannot recover your data if you lose your password. Losing your password means permanent loss of all data — no exceptions. Recovery codes only help if you lose access to your authenticator app (2FA); they do not replace your password.
- We cannot read, analyze, or sell your data.
- We cannot provide technical support involving reading or modifying your data.
- You are solely responsible for safeguarding your password and recovery codes (if you use 2FA).
5. Content Ownership
You retain full ownership of all content you create in the application (tasks, notes, lists, folders, etc.). Reborn Foundation claims no rights to your data. We do not use your content for any purpose — no analytics, AI model training, or profiling.
6. Data Management
- You may export your data at any time from the application settings.
- You may delete your account at any time, which permanently removes all server-side data.
- Items moved to trash are automatically permanently deleted after 30 days. You can also delete them manually sooner.
7. Service Limits
The free instance has the following limits:
- Storage quota — up to 100 MB of encrypted data on the server per account.
- Note size — up to 500 KB of text (before encryption) per note.
- Task lists — up to 100 per account.
- Subtasks — up to 50 per task.
- Note version history — up to 10 most recent versions per note.
Limits may change. Material changes will be communicated in advance.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree to:
- Not use the service for any illegal purpose.
- Not transmit harmful content or malware.
- Not use automated tools (bots, scrapers) for bulk access to the service.
- Not attempt to circumvent security measures, limits, or rate limiting mechanisms.
In case of a terms violation, we reserve the right to delete the account. Due to our zero-knowledge architecture, we are unable to suspend an account while preserving data access — deletion is the only enforcement measure.
9. Open Source
Reborn Apps are licensed under AGPL-3.0. You may self-host your own instance using the source code available on GitHub. Self-hosted instances are not subject to the limits described in section 7 — you configure them yourself.
10. Service Continuity
As a non-profit project, we aim to maintain the service long-term. However, if we ever need to discontinue the free instance, we will provide at least 30 days notice and assist with data export and self-hosting migration.
11. Limitation of Liability
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Reborn Foundation shall not be liable for any damages arising from the use of or inability to use the service, including data loss caused by losing your password and recovery codes.
12. Privacy
For detailed information about personal data processing, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
13. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced on the website with reasonable advance notice.
14. Governing Law
These terms are governed by Polish law. Disputes shall be resolved by courts competent for the registered seat of Reborn Foundation.
